My First Scentsy Fundraiser

Hello fellows crafters and bloggers. I am hosting my first Scentsy fundraiser for an amazing local organization that helps people all over our great nation. Pink Heart Funds

Pink Heart Funds™, launched in 2005, is a non-profit 501(c) 3 charity providing free wigs for children and adults who have lost their hair due to illness or cancer treatment. We provide women with free breast prostheses and lymphedema sleeves after breast cancer surgery and serve as a resource for those seeking support.
Mission Statement: To inspire,  encourage, and restore hope for persons affected by cancer and hair loss disorders.

I am hosting a Scentsy fundraiser and will give them my 20% profit from all sales made via this link
Pink Heart Funds Fundraiser from today until August 31st.
I'm in need of everyone's help. Please share this link with everyone you know. Chances are, their lives have been touched in some way by cancer, as 98% of America's population has been. I would love for you to shop, but please don't feel obligated to do so. I am really just looking for help spreading the word about the fundraiser and this amazing organization.

Thank you dear friends,
Kimmi

I'm back and ready to ROCK!

Wow! It's been a while since I've posted but so much has gone on! My daughter's wedding has come and gone, the kids are back in school, I have become a Scensty Fragrance and Velata consultant, I am now the treasurer and main contact for our high school band boosters, and I have started babysitting in my home full-time 5 days a week!

As promised before, I will be posting a few photos from my daughter's wedding. It was absolutely beautiful, and I was very pleased with the way all of our crafts turned out for the event! I'll try to get those up tomorrow.

I am hosting my first Scentsy party tomorrow, it's actually my Launch Party. If you would like to help launch my business, you can shop from my launch party until Saturday by going to my website and clicking on the link "Kim's Launch Party". I would very much appreciate the business, and would equally appreciate any business you can send my way, by sharing my link's with your friends and family.

My Scentsy link is www.kimluxich.scentsy.com

Bridal Shower goodies!

So, with Miriah's bridal shower on Sunday and the wedding coming up very quickly (July 7th), I have been a very busy Momma! She wants a "fairy tale" wedding, however, she also wants it handmade and cheap... So far, we have accomplished this and are still working towards a wedding for very little money, with a very huge impact!

A few ways we have accomplished this is to get rid of the "traditional" wedding necessities and replace them with handmade options:
1. to cut the cost of both guest books and table centerpieces, she chose to make "wish jars" as the centerpieces of each table. these will be decorated and placed on each table along with little rolled up sheets of paper and pens for each guest to write their info on one side and a "wish" to the couple on the other.
2. in place of expensive flowers and ribbons to decorate the building, she has chosen to have me make paper flowers and ribbons using the "Giant Flowers" cartridge and the CCR ribbons and bows cut file.
3. in place of purchasing the expensive "card bird cage" for the gift cards, she purchased 3 different shaped/sized paper mache boxes on half price sale and stacked them into a "cake", glued them together, cut a slot in the top one, cut an opening through from the top to the bottom for the cards to fall in when dropped in the slot.
4. in place of an expensive cake topper, she purchased a large wooden "S", painted and decorated it with the colors of the wedding.

Here are a few items that I have made for her bridal shower and wedding. I will be posting more as we get things finished.

Cardstock rosette corsages for the special shower guests

Miriah's corsage

Maid of Honor corsage

my grand daughter's corsage so she's just like Mommy

Mother of Bride & Mother of Groom corsages

Table decorations that will go in vases

Shower game prizes. They are stationary kits

open view: includes 5 greeting cards, 5 thank you notes, 5 gift tags,
built in address book, stamp pocket, and pen holder

open view of 2nd kit

coasters to be used as wedding favors: made with 4X4 ceramic tiles, a photo, and mod podge.
the treat boxes are for the shower and will be filled with M&M's

I hope you have enjoyed this post even though it was quite long. I will post pics from the shower next week and will be posting more handmade wedding item photos shortly after.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting,
Kimmi

Blogaversary Week Celebration: DAY 6

Welcome to Paper Crafting World and Cooking With Cricut's 2nd Blog-Aversary and our week long celebration! Each day for a whole week (May 19-26) we will be brining you fabulous projects made by our Design Team members. We have some GREAT blog candy as well as some daily file and graphic give-aways -- so you will definitely want to make PCW-CWC your daily stop every day this week!

Our theme for today is . . . You're A Star! and this is what I created!

This is a 7 inch flat card that does not open. I made the star cuts from George and Basic Shapes, and the cocktail cuts from Nifty Fifties. This will be attached to a shower gift or bachelorette party gift for my daughter. I haven't made up my mind which, but either way, I know she'll be looking like a star!

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you head on over to Cooking With Cricut to check out the rest of the projects by our amazing Design Teams!

Happy Crafting,
Kimmi

Welcome to Paper Crafting World and Cooking With Cricut's 2nd Blog-Aversary and our week long celebration! We have some GREAT blog candy as well as some daily file and graphic give-aways -- so you will definitely want to make PCW-CWC your daily stop every day this week!

Our theme for today is . . . Pink and Fabric or Flowers and this is what I created! It's a "Honeymoon Fund" bank for my daughter's bridal shower. I've been making small little gifts like this for her just because. I used Victorian Romance for the cut files, and Lyrical Letters for the vinyl lettering on it. I finished it off with wired ribbon and paper flowers.

This is the front

This is one side

This is the back

And now it is your turn! Head on over to Cooking With Cricut and link up your project with today's theme for your chance at becoming our next Top Chef!

Blogaversary Week Celebration: DAY 2

Welcome to Paper Crafting World and Cooking With Cricut's 2nd Blog-Aversary and our week long celebration! Each day for a whole week (May 19-26) we will be brining you fabulous projects made by our Design Team members. We have some GREAT blog candy as well as some daily file and graphic give-aways -- so you will definitely want to make PCW-CWC your daily stop every day this week!

Our theme for today is . . . Pearls and this is what I created!

This is a gift box for my daughter's bridal shower on June 3rd. It will be used to wrap the gift her two younger brothers are getting her. They want to find some jewelry to go with her wedding rehearsal dress since she already picked out her wedding day jewelry.
The box was cut using Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge. The gems on the front form an "M" for Miriah, and the ribbon and flower is held on by pearl-topped dress makers pins. Pink, black, and white tissue paper will be used inside to finish it all off.

Thank you for stopping by. Be sure to check out all the great projects by our designers have posted today and everyday this week at Cooking With Cricut
