So, with Miriah's bridal shower on Sunday and the wedding coming up very quickly (July 7th), I have been a very busy Momma! She wants a "fairy tale" wedding, however, she also wants it handmade and cheap... So far, we have accomplished this and are still working towards a wedding for very little money, with a very huge impact!
A few ways we have accomplished this is to get rid of the "traditional" wedding necessities and replace them with handmade options:
1. to cut the cost of both guest books and table centerpieces, she chose to make "wish jars" as the centerpieces of each table. these will be decorated and placed on each table along with little rolled up sheets of paper and pens for each guest to write their info on one side and a "wish" to the couple on the other.
2. in place of expensive flowers and ribbons to decorate the building, she has chosen to have me make paper flowers and ribbons using the "Giant Flowers" cartridge and the CCR ribbons and bows cut file.
3. in place of purchasing the expensive "card bird cage" for the gift cards, she purchased 3 different shaped/sized paper mache boxes on half price sale and stacked them into a "cake", glued them together, cut a slot in the top one, cut an opening through from the top to the bottom for the cards to fall in when dropped in the slot.
4. in place of an expensive cake topper, she purchased a large wooden "S", painted and decorated it with the colors of the wedding.
Here are a few items that I have made for her bridal shower and wedding. I will be posting more as we get things finished.
